NUTRITION AND EDUCATION RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT LEAD

Mikaela Zeiter, MS, RDN, CDN, is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with a Master of Science in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a background in cellular and molecular biology. Her experiences as a collegiate athlete contributed to an early interest in the relationship between nutrition, movement, and overall well-being. Her subsequent work in drug research expanded this interest, providing insight into the treatment of disease while fostering a growing curiosity about the role nutrition and lifestyle can play in prevention. These experiences ultimately shaped her decision to pursue a career in nutrition and her continued interest in evidence-based approaches to supporting long-term health.

Mikaela is currently focused on translating emerging nutrition research into clear, practical, and accessible educational resources. She is particularly interested in the relationship between dietary patterns, food processing, and long-term health, as well as making complex nutrition science easier to understand and apply to everyday food choices.

Mikaela currently works in private practice, where she provides individualized nutrition counseling and helps clients translate nutrition recommendations into realistic, sustainable habits. She also teaches group fitness, allowing her to combine her interests in nutrition, movement, and overall wellness. She brings these clinical and educational experiences to her work with the Non-UPF Program, developing approachable resources that empower individuals to better understand the foods they eat and make informed choices. She is passionate about making nutrition science accessible and providing people with practical tools they can use to support their health and well-being.
