Christine McCullum-Gomez, PhD, RDN

Christine McCullum-Gomez, PhD, RDN is an independent researcher and nutrition consultant based in Bogotá, Colombia. She has a PhD in Nutritional Sciences from Cornell University with minors in Program Evaluation and Public Policy. Her expertise is in sustainable healthy diets, sustainable food systems, environmental nutrition, and nutrition policy.

Dr. McCullum-Gomez is a co-Principal Investigator of a study assessing university students’ knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors about sustainable food systems. The results will be used to develop educational materials for university students. She is also a member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Hunger & Environmental Nutrition.

She serves as the Country Representative for the International Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (IAAND), in Colombia. She writes a sustainability column for the Vegetarian Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group newsletter titled, Plant-Powered Perspectives: The Green Fork Report. Dr. McCullum-Gomez is the recipient of numerous professional awards, including a National Cancer Institute (NCI) Post-doctoral Fellowship and Excellence in Hunger and Environmental Nutrition Award from the Hunger and Environmental Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She has assisted in the development of food and environmental standards for the United Nations and has worked with numerous clients, including Danone North America, Silk, Organic Valley, and The Organic Center.
